Survey for Cochlear Implant Audiologists

The University of Iowa Cochlear Implant Program is hoping to better understand, from an audiologist’s perspective, the clinical practice involved in working with patients with a cochlear implant who also have low-frequency residual hearing on the implanted ear. The aims of this survey are to:

  • Determine professional background of audiologists responding to this survey
  • Learn how other cochlear implant programs handle different aspects regarding Hybrid/EAS
  • Work toward best practice recommendations for Hybrid/EAS
  • Work toward improving clinic efficiency when caring for patients with Hybrid/EAS devices
  • Begin discussion of improving reimbursement for professional services provided to patients with Hybrid/EAS devices

Definition of Hybrid/EAS: For the purposes of this survey, any patient with aidable low-frequency residual hearing in the implanted ear.
