The pediatric Hearing Implant Program at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is a multidisciplinary team of audiologists (American Board of Audiology Certified Cochlear Implant Specialists), otolaryngologists, speech-language pathologists, social workers, and educational consultants. We work with children with hearing loss who are being evaluated for cochlear implantation and bone-conduction device implantation, as well as children who already use hearing implants. Our goal is to provide the best possible care for a child and family, to educate other professionals with whom the child may interact and to conduct research into improving outcomes with the technology. Approximately 80 children received the cochlear implant at our center within the last year, and we follow more than 800 children. The surgeons involved with the program are: Dr Ken Kazahaya, Dr. John Germiller, Dr. Brian Dunham, Dr. Luv Javia, and Dr. David Lee.
