Researchcochlear implant pilot grantThrough a pilot grant program for research projects, ACI Alliance hopes to spur innovation which may contribute to greater CI accessibility. Applicants may be any member of ACI Alliance in good standing. A letter of interest must be received by January 31, 2022 with applications due March 31, 2022. Member SurveysACI Alliance solicits and electronically distribute surveys that have been submitted by members to collect information from other CI clinicians and investigators on the CI process, outcomes, access barriers and research needs. Cochlear Implantation and Quality of Life ResearchACI Alliance is funding a research study meant to result in the development and validation of Quality of Life instruments specifically targeted to cochlear implant recipients. Societal Cost of Hearing Loss: A research funding opportunityAmerican Cochlear Implant Alliance partnered with the American Hearing Research Foundation (AHRF) to offer up to $25,000 in funding for a one-year planning project on the societal costs of deafness. Medicare ExpansionAn ACI Alliance multi-center study hoped to provide outcomes data that may result in a decision by CMS to expand CI candidacy for Medicare beneficiaries. Cochlear Implant OutcomesACI Alliance sponsors annual conferences featuring expert speakers from across the treatment continuum - surgeons, audiologists, speech language pathologists, educators and researchers.
