The Division of Otology, Neurotology, and Cranial Base Surgery at The Ohio State University seeks to improve outcomes for patients with hearing loss. As such, cochlear implants are a integral part in caring for these individuals. Specific research interests include a better understanding of factors contributing to cochlear implant outcomes, hearing preservation procedures, and combined electric-acoustic stimulation. Further, the program has been improving our understanding of the perceptual processes as they pertain to patients with hearing loss, cochlear implants, and improving aural rehabilitation for patients with implants.
