Since 2003, the University of Mississippi Medical Center Cochlear Implant team has provided expert care to adults and children with cochlear implants and bone conduction implants. Our Team has the state's only dedicated Pediatric Audiology division skilled in testing very young and special needs children. We also have the state's only multidisciplinary pediatric cochlear implant team with integrated preoperative and postoperative pediatric speech/language therapy and balance testing. And, with our affiliation at the only Children's Hospital in the state, our pediatric procedures are done under the supervision of pediatric anesthesia and access to a team of pediatric subspecialists. Our team approach to diagnosis of hearing loss and coordinating procedures and visits takes into account the travel and time families face.
The mission of the American Cochlear Implant (ACI) Alliance is to advance access to the gift of hearing provided by cochlear implantation through research, advocacy and awareness.
