  Shawn Stevens, MD, FACS, is a surgeon at Barrow Neurological Institute in the Department of ENT and Skull Base Surgery. He is board certified in otolaryngology head and neck surgery and neurotology, otology, and skull base surgery.

Dr. Stevens’ expertise includes all types of hearing and vestibular disorders, lateral skull base surgery, acoustic neuromas and other skull base tumors, cochlear implantation, auditory brainstem implantation, bone-anchored hearing devices, cholesteatoma, and other inflammatory conditions of the ear. He is president of the Arizona Society of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, and an active fellow of the American Neurotology Society.

Dr. Stevens earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University. He completed his residency in otolaryngology at the Medical University of South Carolina and a fellowship in otology, neurotology, and lateral skull base surgery at the University of Cincinnati.

Dr. Stevens’ research interests include treatment outcomes in the management of vestibular schwannoma, regenerative medicine of the skull base, virtual skills training in ear surgery, and the study of advanced implantable hearing devices.
