It is well known that adult cochlear implant users report better speech recognition and improved self-esteem after a period of device utilization. However, our knowledge of other functional outcomes of cochlear implantation is limited. To improve our understanding of real life impacts, ACI Alliance funded a study to develop and validate quality of life (QOL) instruments specifically targeted to cochlear implant recipients.
