Approved by the American Cochlear Implant Alliance Board of Directors, the new position paper clarifies key issues relating to parent choice on language development for children with hearing loss. It is intended to address, in an evidence-based manner, the efforts of LEAD-K groups to pass state laws that would limit choice for families. With this paper, we have been inclusive of the importance of all hearing technologies.
The mission of the American Cochlear Implant (ACI) Alliance is to advance access to the gift of hearing provided by cochlear implantation through research, advocacy and awareness.
