Early Implantation Outcomes

Early Implantation: Children who receive early intervention and cochlear implants at a young age often receive greater benefit in learning and understanding spoken language as the brain is provided auditory stimulation during a crucial learning period.  This early advantage can lead to improved literacy and academic performance.

The following presentations were given during CI2016, Toronto and include the following topics: bilateral vs unilateral implantation, early intervention, speech/language production, sign language exposure and developmental patterns.

The mission of the American Cochlear Implant (ACI) Alliance is to advance access to the gift of hearing provided by cochlear implantation through research, advocacy and awareness.
